Monday, June 13 – Carol Kent/Waiting Together; Larry Osborne/Accidental Pharisees – Having a loved one sitting in prison can put incredible strain on a family. On the next Live the Promise Susie welcomes back good friend Carol Kent. We’ll explore the special grace God has for those with connections to an inmate. Then pastor Larry Osborne joins the program. We talk about how to overcome our inner Pharisee and walk in the acceptance we already have in Christ.
Tuesday, June 14 – Mike Slaughter/The Christian Wallet; Phil Waldrep/Reaching Your Prodigal – Giving is a mark of a follower of Christ. On the next Live the Promise Susie talks with Mike Slaughter about the principles of stewardship and generosity that mark a Christian’s life. Then Susie welcomes back author Phil Waldrep. We’ll unpack what happens when a loved one has walked away from the church, and how can we reach out to them with love and understanding.
Wednesday, June 15 – Kai Nilsen/Renewing Your Life; Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley/Relationships – When we’re running too hard and too long, we’ll hit a wall. God wants us to have rest. Listen as Susie talks with author Kai Nilsen. He shares his own journey from burnout to rest and replenishment in God. Then Focus on the Family’s Dr. Greg Smalley and his wife Erin talk about God’s design for relationships, and how to honor and love each other in a way that honors God.
Thursday, June 16 – Ray Johnston/Jesus Called; Dr. Troy Spurrill (IN STUDIO)/Health and Healing – The church’s main purpose is not comfort. Listen as Susie talks with pastor Ray Johnston about God’s original plan for the church and what it means to live a radical, sacrificial faith. Then Dr. Troy Spurrill (SPURR-ell) joins us in studio. We’ll have a fascinating conversation about the connections between our physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
Friday, June 17 – Mahtob Mahmoody/My Name is Mahtob; Angelia Waite/God’s Presence in the Valley (BOTH HOURS RECORDED) – How can God overcome our past trauma? Listen to Susie’s powerful conversation with Mahtob Mahmoody, whose story of escape from Iran with her mother made headlines and led to the movie Not Without My Daughter. Then speaker Angelia Waite shares how God led her and her family through the loss of her young son Ramsey.
Saturday, June 18 – Meredith Andrews – How can God use challenges to bring us to Him? We can train ourselves to look for His grace and provision in different trials. On the weekend edition of Live the Promise you’ll hear Susie’s conversation with singer-songwriter Meredith Andrews. We talk about Meredith’s new album and look at how God works to bring beauty from the dark seasons of our life.
